  • Checking In on our Coastal Members

Checking in on our coastal brothers.

I know that we have several members on the coast of Ca, Or and Wa, and I know that at least some of those areas are being impacted by the tsumani from the Japan quake from yesterday.

Hope you guys are ok, I know they are reporting boats bumping around down by Santa Cruz.

Washington state isn't really getting anything, as the waves arrived at low tide. My understanding is the coast further south (Oregon/Cal) may have some issues...

It's mostly the harbor at Santa Cruz and Cresent City that got hit. SC because it's narrow and long, the surge was running like a fast flowing river. Ripped up docks, boats, and 'bout everything!
Ed and I are high up, so no damage.

          No Olas

Being a somewhat hardcore surfer, all of us here in san diego were bummed, no waves,,,,,most of the energy was blocked out by the islands offshore. Actually, tsunami waves cant be ridden anyway, its just a wall of water and no surfable shape. SO,,,,,no damage to S.Cal. Mike in S.DIego
