          Hey Nate,

If you were a real buddy you'd just buy it and invite him over to work on it with a few beers. Then when fixed up and all pretty sell it to him for the low cost of $500.00 more than invested. LOL He doesn't need to know what you paid and almost free labor.

              XS on flea bay

This bike looks good. Rawhide ranch is a place for wayward boys, they train to work on cars mostly. I have never heard of them spending much time with bikes, usually sell them after a good clean-up and some minor repairs. This one is polished and very clean, so the P O did a lot of work on it. The fairing is an older Vetter, I have never seen lowers like that. I think the exhaust is after market Jardine 4-2. My SF has a trunk like that, it is HUGE, only mine is mounted much lower. If I were in the market for another XS, I would bid up to 1200 for this one. It is about 2-2 1/2 hours from me, but I have enough XS's to last the rest of my life. Unless something stupid happened to this bike, like running without oil, this is a real gem. All of the vehicles Rawhide sells are donated, which leads me to believe the P O either died, or became unable to ride. There is a lot of work done to this machine that the boys at Rawhide do not do. Looks like a real sleeper.

I said it looked just lik mine, BUT, pretty much everything is polished on that bike. Mines not quite that pretty.

That would look great at that Milwaukee bike show on Aug 6th.

                  nice bike,
noticed it doesnt have an air box, just the velocity stax,
also the front tyre looks to shiny, plenty of silicone or something
                  put on there.

From what can be seen in the pics, that is an original exhaust system for my money. I don't think the Jardine pipes have the same shape joint covers as those ones.
The shiny front tyre looks like it's just been washed and is still dripping wet. Looks like a real gem of a bike, though the absent airbox is a bit of a worry.
It's just a bit too far away for me.
