  • Official Geezerdom

Well it's official: I am now a Senior. No more of this "old enough for Dennie's but not the County Dump" stuff. No, now even Uncle Sam recognizes my geezerdom. (I just became aware that XS11 spellcheck doesn't recognize "geezerdom:" go figure!) Young ladies have stopped asking to see my I.D. to confirm my age at the pay counter. When I flirt with young women no one takes me seriously.
I crank up by skoot from time to time. I would have taken a chance on riding it up HWY 9 to Felton the other day, sans current registration and insurance, but the front brakes had tightened up and I couldn't back it out of its parking slot.
We continue to have some really nice riding days here on the Central Coast in between storms. Unfortunately they have been occurring during the middle of the week rather than on the week end.
Well if I survive the Winter, I hope to have my Special rebuilt by Summer. I see LOHO has started a new thread for the next Central Coast Rally, and I certainly hope to have body, sole, and bike together by then.
    Special Ed
Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
    I've been riding since 1959.

    Geezerdom

    Congratulations and well done:

I get my official status card ( geezerdom ) in July 2011 which will make it an even 50 years since I got my license to thrill on a bike.

Fortunately I am blessed in many ways.
My main squeeze is gorgeous and about six months younger than me. We are both in good shape.

My two sailing girlfriends are hotties and both 21.

I rode Yami 70 miles in the rain today.

Other than being $100,000.00 short in my raining day fund, life is peachy.

I wish you all the best as you enter the glory days. May you ride with the sun at your back for many miles.

      Forgot

I recently became aware of a geezer ( over 60 ) riding group in Langley BC.
They meet every Tuesday at 0900 in MacDonalds on #10 highway just west of 152.
I have not met them yet but will do the next time I am in that area.

Kat you are SO far from geezerdom. Your just one of those sweet young things that us old guys take notice of, then realize they are around the same age as our daughters and slap ourselves.
