      Hey Nate!
That's a pretty cool video.BUT, thwere might be a simple expanation for their existence.
A gentleman farmer (read wealthy) that lived in DuPage county Illinois imported a dozen european white deer in the thirties. His land eventually bcame Argonne National Laboritories. It is surrounded by DuPage County forest preserve.
The white deer herd reached about 300 animals by the Nineties. DuPage Forest Preserve decide to eliminate them because they're not native species.
The deer within Argonne were not killed because Argonne wouldn't allow it.Sharpshooters cleared the preserve. There are now about 20 living in Argonne.

The herd in Wisconsin could have a similar origin. Who Knows.

Thanks for the link, it brought back many memories!!
Not of deer, but of college life. I worked on that very show "In Wiconsin" during my college years. Most memorable was a week we spent filming at Taliesen East, Frank Lloyd Wright's original compound.
          Thanks

I am from Wi. and loved that video. But the snow and cold drove me away. One summer my buddy and the wives rode the back roads from Hudson to Ashland on Lake Superior. One streach was about 40 miles of gravel road was nearly total forest. We went slow on this road because every half mile or so, the deer would run out in front of us and stand there staring at us. The rest waited until we were very close, then run across the road. Beautiful but dangerous. Never forget it.

These are pretty cool too. They are called Spirit bears... They are not polar bears, and they are not albino.. They are black bears... only white!
There are only two types of bikers...
those that have layed it down, and
those that have not layed it down...YET!
