I am not 100% certain, but I do not believe ANY of the XS models used the mounting method shown on the pan to that seat. I'm betting it is an XS750. I seem to recall they hinged up from one side.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

That is something that amazes me about these folks that are just buying bikes to sell the parts. They do not even bother to clean the parts or polish them up at all.
I always try to clean up and polish parts before showing pics of them for sale. I do feel I have ever tried to cover up any defect or abnormality in any parts I have sold. But I would not think to post a pic without putting a shine to what will take it.
But even a polishing would not make that seat fit an XS11, or any more shapely!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

and so what? The only important thing about a seat is that it should be comfortable.

Well Fred,
Locking at the pics of the seat and then looking at some pics you posted, I don't think either one of us would be comfortable in that seat!!!! LOL!!!
I don't really want to get into a pi$$ing match over this, not worth it.1980G Standard, Restored

seeing as that seat ain't for an XS11, it's a moot point anyway.
What I was saying is that a seat's comfort comes ahead of it's looks.
Not that I am consistent in this:-
this older photo shows the King/Queen/Hiback seat my XS11 came with.
That seat ( the driver's half anyway, it never carried a passenger that I can remember) was OK for comfort but Gawd! was it ever ucking fugly and I changed it out as soon as I could find a stock seat.
However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that seat now graces another XS11 who's owner loves how it looks.Fred Hill, S'toon

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" No truer words have been spoken.
My G also came with a very nice and cosmetically perfect King/Queen seat. It was fairly comfortable as well, but as with my J, it didn't allow me to shift my weight rearward. This is unsafe in my book because on a couple of occasions I've had to shift my weight to the back so as to improve rear wheel traction and prevent it from sliding around to the front on me during panic braking.
That K/Q seat now resides in my attic in the hope that if/when I take a long range trip I can use it. Although I may get rid of it soon.1980G Standard, Restored

My 79 xs 750 special came with a flip up seat it was hinged on the right side. It looked identical to freds. Also it looks just like the one I am trying to trade. Someone mounted the standard bolt set up on the bottom of it and it boltsup fine. Any takers? I want to put a standard seat on it..." She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid. I've made a lot of special modifications myself. "
