    I had one

Make sure you have him show you how to take the Saddle bags off.
If the bike went down , even just fell over, the first thing that breaks are the
Saddle bag brackets, you will see this only if you remove the bags.

They are good bikes, top heavy , but plenty of power and handle well.

    Thanks, Steve

That was my first sport tourer.

They're quick for their size, both in speed and maneuverability.

Definitely top heavy with the tank being high (it's under the seat on the ST1100).

95% of connies buzz so bad your right hand will be asleep in less than an hour at highway speeds.

I had no significant problems with my '88. Ran it to 90,000 miles.

The concours owners forum is very helpful and parts are readily available. http://www.concours.org/

Have an '06 in my garage. 2nd year riding it. Good bike. Plan to customize it, as stock ergos fit almost no one. I've changed windshelds, added bar risers, peg lowing kit, SS lines, highway pegs, next up is a more comfortable seat.

Top heavy at low speeds, don't feel it at above about 35 mph. 7.5 gallon tank, easily gets 42 - 44 mpg at 75 mph. In production 20 years, lots of parts and accessories out there. Best info/support site I have found is
        http://forum.concours.org/

Bike has its quirks, does buzz but that can be addressed. Great bike for the money. Reputation for reliability, no problems taking off for a couple week's run. I am very pleased with it.

Bag supports are called "antlers" and you see them on Craislist and eBay from time to time.
