I think the next one after that is "guru" status. And then at something like 3 or 4k posts it's like "super guru" or something like that.

I remember when a certain area of the system was removed, some got rather upset because they lost their "guru" status because of the removed posts. Seems like one isn't really qualified if all their posts were in an area not even remotely bike related (although we all sometimes fluff our posts when getting close, unless we don't even notice till after the fact).

Reality is that number of post do not an expert make. While I will say I have learned ALOT about these machines and their idiosynchrosies over the couple years I have been here. I have alot to learn from the ones with fewer post that have taught it to me.

If my name were George Bush, I still would not be an oil tycoon or retired president of the USA. So being a Super Guru or whatever does not mean I know more than the Xsive who joined yesterday, or less than someone with 10k post.

My high number of post just seems to indicate I need to get life.

                  One of my favorite quotes.
Sadly, few people understand what it means.

                    Prom,

That reminds me of a quote form a fire chief I worked with once...." People don't know, what they don't know." Similar concept, and yet equally misunderstood it seems.
