I was at a meeting in Dayton yesterday. One of the guys there wanted me to take a spin around the block on his new Harley. I said sure. He handed me the little wireless remote key fob thing and said as long as you have it in your pocket the bike will start. I took my ride and got back. He got on his bike , started up and rode away. I had carpooled with some other people in my van. I was about 20 miles down the road and wondered what was in my pocket. Well it was the little wireless remote thingy. I must of been close enough to the bike for him to start it up. Just about that time he called and said he was stranded at a gas station in Beavercreek. So we got to take a little tour of Ohio. ain't' technology wonderful!!!

LOL! I can see myself doing that... If I was to leave the keyfob in one jacket, and walk outside to start the bike, wearing the other jacket. It would likely start, due to the proximity of the coat closet right inside the door, but then I'd be stuck the same way.

Or disable it. My V-Rod has the manual alarm but I never use it. In fact the fob thing stays in my dresser. I saw where the new ones are auto like you describe. One more thing to leave you stranded.US Army 1986-1991

Had those in rental cars before. They are convenient for that. But I can see the downfall now. Sometimes we humans outsmart ourselves!!

I do have to say I was impressed with the easy power the bike had. He has a new Road King. I have ridden HD's before and the biggest thing I don't like is the seating postion. I prefer the way my stock standard sits.
