  • Godzilla invades Texas!

It was a pleasure finally meeting TC and even more so having the opportunity to ride with him yesterday...

TC met us at our home and we headed off on a 130 mile ride with him before he headed north... John and I finished the day at just over 220 miles.

The color of happy? Sunburn red
    (I am VERY happy lol)

and honest TC... I DO own some riding gear...

Safe travels for the duration of your trip TC and feel free to stop in anytime you're in town again.

As soon as he hit the state line... he stopped for gas at a Flyin' J and bought a Texas-sized belt buckle!

Oh... and come on, T.C.... the "Seventies" are over.
You can quit wearin' those Disco Platform Shoes now. (Or is he just standin' on a rock at the end of John's driveway?)

                Definitely a treat!

I haven't been able to ride much this summer since our daughters started high school band and it's been ALL time consuming (I am the volunteer Mom from hell... lol) not to mention the weather hasn't been the most conducive for riding... either WAY too hot (like riding in a convection oven) or WAY too wet (like riding in a lake) and a brake problem I couldn't get to for awhile (due to aforementioned band Mom duties)...
Between the excellent weather we had, the great company and some decent roads... it was a MOST XSively enjoyable ride.

Okay Don... ya got me on the bike lock...

I'm not saying ANYthing about how tall TC is... when you're as vertically challenged as I am... you look up to almost everyone anyway...

                  Kat,

On the pic that Prom posted, look down below the side cover, behind the engine, in front of the swing arm bolt cover. See that big hunk of chrome sitting there, that is where the chain and lock is stored. But the factory pieces do not look like that!

                      Hey, Don...
That's his vent breather. I asked him the same question when he made it in to my place next, after John & Kat's!

T.C.: It was great to have you over, and glad we finally got to hang out, grab some dinner, and work that evening ride in!
Hope you had a good time and enjoyed it as much as I did.

Ahh, Sissy! I ride in every type of weather, right on up to the convection oven temps. But then some do consider me a bit crazy that way, I'm riding in many cases when I'm the only guy around on 2 wheels around here. Of course this IS California and not Texas, but I thought Texas was a "dry" heat? Just pulling your leg, I know that not everybody is as crazy as me, I rode year round up in Washington too, rain and all.

Glad to hear that you were able to get out and have a good time riding with TC.

                            LOL
Yeah... I am a bit on the girly side... but some people seem to be very okay with that...

I don't mind riding in the heat really (and I think only Phoenix has a dry heat... lol) but not if I'm going out for pleasure riding. Don't tell anyone, but I like riding in shorts during the summer (I can hear the ATGATT riders scorning me now ) and the seat does some pretty nasty things to the back of my legs after it's been in the 105 - 110 degree sun for awhile.
As for the rain... well... I rode someone's bike 420 miles in a deluge with 50 degree temps to get it home after they had an accident here... So it isn't that I won't ride in it... just not my preference... especially when the water is deep enough to flood my van. Man! that was some rain we had!
The biggest reason for me not riding this summer was that I still haven't figured out how to get 3-4 kids and several band instruments strapped to it... but I'm working on it...
I think Fred might have something with that sidecar deal (and we've actually thought about that too)

                            Okay... enough excuses... lol
I did have a great time riding and have had a chance to put a few more miles on since then... Taking my daughters out for rides this weekend since they finally have a break from band for a couple of days...
                            WooHoo!
