  • New in box xs1100 standard exhaust

What are the ods of ever getting a new in the box FACTORY EXHAUST? I've never seen one still in the box and the "nice" ones always have a little rust or a small dent, few scratches ect. I just saw this one with an opening bid of $200. I'm thinking it will sell for big bucks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamah...item2a0a19a4f3

Now THAT is the "Holy Grail" of XS11 parts!! And of course it is for a Standard!! The only thing less likely to be found is an XJ1100 MNS! Maybe those do exist as well??

what the pipes are worth too .... hard to say which way would have been best to sell them ... with or without ... but they sure are nice .. so is the bike !

I'd be willing to bet the pipes will bring about the same amount as the bike. The last "new" set I saw went for $1,000 and they had some shelf scratches.
It looks like these are flawless.

                Stay Behind the Velvet Rope!

I hope they go to a museum somewhere.

That way I can pay the admission fee, jump the velvet rope, and get a whiff of that "New Exhaust" pipes smell.

If they go to a regular person they'll get all Stinky...practically worthless then.

Are all the exhaust/pipes the same? Are they interchangeable with say the XJ1100s?

Ya never know.... the economy is down. It's on my watch list.

I'll bet the original retail price on these was probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 1K....

Jamie, They will all bolt up to the engine just fine. However, they hang and sweep differently between the Standards, the Specials and the XJs.

So, they will bolt to the engine fine, and should let the engien run just fine. But you will need to fab up a hanger to support the muffler end, and it would probably hang low on the XJ reducing your ability to lean as low.

The cross over is also in the wrong place for the XJ, or the Special for that matter. Looked and the bidding is over $500 now, and it has DAYS left to go!
