    Hey everyone,

Now that I have her home and pics taken, I think now I can offically post! Just got the insurance and other necessities taken care of yesterday. One of my other projects is I'm building a custom chopper, but don't have the $$ for the motor yet, but I have the "itch" to ride now -- so I had to *settle* *cough cough* for a 1100.

I got some questions but will post them in the other section.

    Anyway, here are some pics...

I took off the fairing (looks waaaay better, IMO)... Now, anyone in the market for a used fairing?? Probably gonna order a drag bar for the handlebars too sometime soon - I don't like the stock handlebars at all.

The clutch seems a little clunky - it works just fine - but seems to make noise? I've read that this may be normal for these bikes?

    Later,

Nice. ..looks stock...Yes the trani's are clunky. Pull the clutch for a few seconds before dropping it into first, to give everything a chance to mesh.

Hi Dan, Welcome aboard. Good looking bike you had to 'settle' for. I have the same model. I know what you mean about the bars. I still have pullbacks but they're a semi western style and dont turn in as far as the OEM's. Way more comfortable. I had flats on mine for a while but at 6'1" I found the half shut pocket knife riding position didnt suit my back.

Clunky shifts are normal. In the words of member Fred, "they shift like a Russian Tractor". Now I've never seen a Russian tractor but I imagine they would be a fairly 'agricultural' beast.

Thanks! Not worried about the seat cover ATM though. Just wanto get the neccessities working so I can ride!!! Not sure about the headlight parts, don't really know what I'm missing... obvoiusly I need the headlight, screws, and maybe some spacers? I'm assuming I'll be able to plugin my existing connector into the headlight? Or am I gonna hafta hardwire this in? Checking out ebay stuff right now....

                Low Priority...

Yeah...I'm quite happy without the fairing as well. Didn't like the handling of the prior XS I had which did have a fairing. To each his/her own preferences though...

One of the lower priorities on your to do list:

                http://micapeak.com/reg/bikes/XS11/

Surely only after you've put the bike away for the winter.

The headlight plug should plug right into a new headlight, but you will probably have to unplug all the wires there are the front to get them into the bucket, but that's ok, because you should do that and clean them up anyways.

Before you give up on the bars try lowering them a little more. I would guess if I tied a string to the end of mine to each other it would clear the tank by about 3 or 4 inches and feels great to me. Nice find.
