    I HAVE A XS1100F YAMAHA , I HAD IT OUT OF TIME, THE CHAIN SLIP A TOOTH OR
    >TWO WHEN I HAD TENSIONER OUT . I THINK I HAVE IT BACK IN TIME BUT JUST
    >NEED SOME HELP, IHAVE THE TWO DOTS ON CAM LINED UP WITH ARROWS ON CAPS AND
    >THE CRANK IS ON THE LINE IN BETWEEN THE "F" AND THE "T" THERE WAS NO LINE
    >DIRECTLY ON "T" SO I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THIS WAS WRITE . THANKS RANDY EATON

    The "T" is when #1 piston is at TDC. The piston has to be there before you adjust the cams so the dots align. Rotate the crank Very CAREFULLY. If you are too far out of time, or if you feel any bind, you might bend the valves. Must point at the "T" first, then loosen the cam chain to move the camshafts.

      THEIR IS NO LINE ON THE "T" SO DO YOU STILL LINE IT UPTHE BEST YOU CAN WITH THE "T" OR THE LINE RIGHT BEFORE?ICAN TURN ENGINE OVER FREELY AND HAVE COMPRESSION?

          And if you are going to continue to work on your beast - heck, that's one reason we are all here - see if you can get a repair manual, like a Clymers. Has all this good stuff in it.

            THANKS MARTY
            IM GOING TO GET ME A MANUAL SOON.RIGHT NOW MY ENGINE HAS THE CRANK SET TO THE LITTLE LINE JUST BEFORE THE "T" AND THE DOTS ON CAMS ARE IN LINE WITH THE ARROWS ON THE CAPS ON THE COMPRESSION STROKE .I HOPE THATS GOOD!THANKS AGAIN RANDY E
