Awesome to hear your home!! Nothing like a night of sleep without bells whistles alarms and nurses waking you up every two hours need it or not. "Mr. Potter....Mr. Potter....wake up, its time for us to see if you were sleeping, oh you were, good, ok get some rest now."

Welcome back, glad you're alright and in good spirits! Try to stay away from the good riding tunes until you get better or your wife might stash the radio!

I know the feeling on the arm. I am still trying to convince mine that above shoulder height should not take begging struggling and name calling!!

My best recommendation is not to do what I did and wait until you are WBAT (Weight Bearing As Tolerated) to work on range of motion. MY ortho told me to get the shoulder moving after about one or two weeks. The ribs really complicate it, because they hurt like crazy when you try to lift it, but that is where the lidoderm or lidocain patches come in to numb the ribs and let you work.

I am no doctor, but that has been my experience. HTH

Just stumbled onto this DuWayne and boy does it sound familiar. Absolutely the exact same injuries I had a few years ago, right down to the chest tube. At least yours were the result of a deer instead of a stupid red fox!
Get that arm/shoulder moving as much as you can tolerate, despite the pains, or you could easily be looking at a "frozen shoulder" as I well know. Wish someone had given me that advise. Lots longer time to full range of motion.
              Hope you're feeling OK!!!!
