Personally I'm planning on going to the Droid X as soon as my contract is up this fall (actually the contract is not up, but based on my calling plan that's when I can get a new phone at the reduced price).

I like my blackberry, but I like the features I see on the droid phones (my Dad has the original Moto Droid) and as well I have always liked my Motorola phones best as phones, so droid and moto together are IMHO the best of both worlds.

I am looking at "smart"phones in the near future and the droid phones and the iphone are what interest me. but since I live in Canada, the iphone 4 hasn't been released yet and apparently we won't be getting the droid x or it's derivative name for up here. I think I'll likely end up with a Motorola Milestone but the iphone is still in there for me.

Actually the droid was 2 for 50 bucks... and 30 a month for unlimited data transfer... it's awesome. The dx comes out fri has an hdmi hook up. This phone is nutz!!!!! You should go online now they are practically giving the droid away to make room for the x. They will restart your contract.

well just to show you how much more we Canadians pay for this kind of thing

the droid if we sign up for a 3 year plan is 149.99 (599.99 outright)
data plans start at $50/month for 500mb up to $100/month for 3gb of data. no such thing as unlimited on my carrier.

one of the other carriers starts at $30/month for 500mb up to $60 for 5gb data. unfortunately, their coverage in my area has been spotty at best historically. might have to check them out again tho. still no unlimited plans either.
