I have a Garmin nuvi 1300 and I am looking for something to mount it on the handle bar. I dont have a fairing (well i have one but not mounted and will never be mounted, anyone want to buy it!) or a windshield. What do you use for yours?

A few folks have bought a tank bag and put it in a see through pocket on the front of it.

      Hi Nate,
Not cheap but RAM make an excellent mounting system. they have cradles to hold just about every brand of GPS made. I have seen people use the suction cup that comes with it to either the windshield or the tank. They have been happy but i would not trust it myself. The tank bag also works for the current flat style but is not as easy to see, as a high mounted unit, while driving.

            Hi Nate,
These guys have an easy to use site. Watch shipping charges before ordering though.

I've done my Garmin on the windshield with the suction cup, and I didn't trust it so I also tethered it to the fairing as well. It did hold up though, but I'm thinking up how to make a permanent mount on the fairing for it, but it MIGHT have to coexist with the radio unit if I reinstall it.

I use the RAM mount and adaptor made for my Zumoand am very happy with it. I also spoke to a guy this morning who is using a Nuvi, again with the RAM mount and adaptor made for his model, and he is also happy with his setup.

Yeah the RAM mount is what I had found before I asked. Just figured I would see what people had tried! Thanks everyone!
