Billy Joel's, "Allentown" hits home with me. Especially the part that says,"every child had a pretty good shot, to get at least as far as his old man got." Three Dog Night's "Out in the Country" is another one.1979XS1100SF

I don't know that I have a favorite song, but (probably an age indicator) I am going to Seattle this weekend to see my favorite band, Tool. But, don't get me wrong LOVE my classic rock. The really sad part for me, is that the classic rock stations are starting to play more and more songs from MY time . I think that means, OFFICIALLY, that I am starting to get old.'81 XS1100 SH

CCR...very good music.
Yeah, I dod notice that the "classic rock" stations now play what I remember coming out when I was in college!! Kind of goes along with mentioning the time period when you had to have a credit card to cash a check, and you get the glossy blank stare!!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

I guess the classic rock stations don't need me listening to their adds. I must now be out of their demographic...

Favorite song... hmmm, that's a tough one, as it changes with my mood. I have pretty wide tastes in rock/blues (country leaves me cold) spanning a lot of years. Most anything by the Dead, pre-Joker Steve Miller Band, Fleetwood Mac (before there was any chicks in the group), Spirit (the '12 Dreams of Dr Sardonicus' is one of the greatest albums ever), the list goes on.
FM radio pretty much sucks these days, as they all have their 'favorites' that they play to death and you just don't hear any variety any more.
I'll be a smart-a$$ and suggest a 'theme song' for the 'other' XS11 group.... side one, track three off of Frank Zappa's 'Sheik Yerbouti'

Lotta people don't know that Fleetwood Mac was a pretty darn good Blues band before they made it in the pop/rock world.
I am a big blues fan...favorite song changes with my mood...but I always like "Blue on Black" by Kenny Wayne Shepherd...or anything by Stevie Ray Vaughan.Guy

The guy was a musical genius !! Again like so many others, taken way to early ( Jimmy Hendrix, SRV, Keith Moon, John Bonham etc )
