Or are there a lot of newbies here it must be summer. Maybe we should have Vin# as part of new registration so we could tell when somebody sells a bike. The sale could come with membership on the site

There are a LOT of familiar names ABSENT, it looks to me, Garth. That phenomenon has the effect of making there appear to be more new folks ... that's my assessment.

So ... what about that Slozuki? Doin' wheelies and stopies with that thing yet?

I think several things combine to cause the jump in newbies....
        1. Summer is here so everyone that has a bike wants to be riding it, lots of people start looking for help
        2. All the "old timers" bikes already run, so they are out riding instead of posting.
        3. A lot of bikes change owners in the spring and early summer, new owners means new posters.

          Awww ... nuts, Garth ...

if you put a stunt kit on there it'll just ad to the value, won't it? What did you have to do to the thing to get it on the road? Was a DOA at your place right?

Psych ... true true ...tis the season.

I really didn't have to do much I just cleaned the carbs and it runs . It was having starvation issues for some reason the the paper filter wasn't flowing but I ditched it because the tank is clean problem solved. But it is for sale so I am not gonna do any thing else too it

There sure are a lot of newer-than-me posters, you're right, "Raise the drawbridge!"

I don't know about linking bikes' VIN online: data miners, trolls and stalkers should have to make at least a little effort to get personal information, you know?

I don't mean to deny anyone's membership just wondering how we have so many new bikes and where and who did they get them

Garth, please put down the pick and turn down the carbide lamp when you come up from under the bridge to follow newbies.

So... you want to know where and who, at a glance, on a web forum? Citizens, cops and courts can't get that information without some type of paperwork, ID, a waiting period, probable cause or a warrant so perhaps it should be put in the members' Sig lines and Profiles?

Got mine from my father-in-law, who bought a Suzuki 1500 Intruder. He wanted something lower and with easier mount/dismount. I have had 4-wheelers and dirt bikes in the past, and wanted something streetable. Love my Special, I ride it to work every day in Enid, Oklahoma, except when it's raining (I don't have wet weather gear yet). Was looking online, to get specs for the bike, and stumbled across this place, and have found some folks on here to be helpfull with first time XS ownership questions. I don't plan on selling the bike at summer's end, and would now like a Midnight Special as well. So there's my story.
