    Is it "wrong" that

looking at the pictures of these carbs gets me a little excited?

I've looked at a lot of carbs on e-bay, and watched a lot of auctions and whoever get that set got a good price, I've seen much "nastier" carbs go for more. Those have to be the best looking set of carbs I've ever seen, I doubt they looked that good brand new from the factory.

Oldskoolcarbs, if your a member here, please post your tricks for making some awesome looking carbs.

Certainly didn't look that good from the factory. Those have been coated as the seller states. I wouldn't let a little BLING make me pay anyone that much for a set of carbs. Not knocking this seller or the OTHER guy on ebay asking that much for carbs but as long as people pay those kind of prices then when ever a set comes up you can bet you will never outbid them.

I wouldn't pay that much for them either, but in comparison to other carbs on e-bay a good price for what they got. Now if I could figure out how to make my carbs look that nice, without spending all winter on them....

You can do that to your carbs with a dremmel and a BUNCH of those little wire brushes you can get for it. I used to do automotive carbs like that and paint them.

Be pepared to pick those little pieces of wire out of your clothing.............and you.

The problem is they don't look that well for long. Paint and gasoline don't play well together. So unless they are powder coated the effect doesn't last long.

                Du Hast?

Ivan, doing a little German headbanging? Awesome! Have you ever seen Rammstein?

Du hast mich gefragt, und ich hab' nichts gesagt! Nein!

The guitar riff from this song would be a killer ring tone, eh?

If you read the ad description, it says "carbs with a natural finish are media blased." I thought it was silver paint at first, also.

good point, really the thing that keeps me from putting in the effort to make my bike/or parts of it, look that good is the fact that I HATE cleaning it. When Its nice and warm, I'd rather go for a good long ride then wash and shine the thing in the drive way. I wonder how hard it is to keep em looking that nice. I do really dig the look of a nice polished up xs though...

not a bad price considering ive seen a set
of slides and rubbers go for over $300,
and ive read where other ppl have been quoted $400
to have there own carbs cleaned.
ive also seen other carbs in similar condition selling on ebay
                              for over $800.00.

welcome to the forum wickedxs, nice work.
