    Red Light Running Consequences Video

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The view from Red Light Cameras of some running red lights. Scary.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=-qvXbIenivk

Situational awareness - specially important at intersections.

Even fire trucks are not immune.

There is one AMAZING "community" bus driver.

Rain does not seem to slow anyone down.

Even if you stop, watch out for who is still coming.

Oh, and don't run a red light right beside a police car. Not a good thing.

I like how many of those accidents, the people in other cars witness these crashes and just drive off. WTF is wrong with people now days.

I've got a riding buddy with greenteeth in his helmet, but he needs a toothbrush not a phone.

But seriously, why are we now so addicted to cell phones that we need to stay in constant contact all the time. I carry mine with me on the bike but I keep it turned off unless I have an emergency, To be frank I enjoy the time without the bloody thing and certainly wouldnt want one annoying the crap out of me inside my helmet. My MP3 player is about the closest thing to that that's ever gonna get inside my helmet and even then it can be a dangerous distraction.

I wouldn't mind having bluetooth in my helmet so I could get the turn by turn GPS directions. I think that would be less distracting than trying to watch the gps screen. I do use an MP3 player but have never found it to be distracting.

But hey, apparently I am a retard.

I have one of those cell phones that you pay for the minutes up front. I use maybe 300 minutes a year.

I use it when I need it...it stays home and off 98% of the time.

I didn't use it at work, unless at a remote work site to contact the boss for a reason.

I don't use it in the car...if it rings, I find a place to pull in and then answer.

Why do people text if they can talk?

Why do either in a car?

The world is not so fast paced as people want to believe, and the world doesn't revolve around us.

Maybe I'm just getting old....'cause I totally don't get it.

A cell phone is just another tool...and no one needs to be that connected all the time.

I wouldn't mind having bluetooth in my helmet so I could get the turn by turn GPS directions
This I can understand, and it makes sense as being safer than looking down at a GPS or a map.

Cell phone is just a shorter leash.

Don't get me wrong, I have one and use it. It's my main phone since I cut the cord with AT&T this year. BUt I don't use it on the bike, I do at times use it in the cage.
BTW - They used to say "Technology will set you free" Yeah, right!! Cells are the shortest leash you could ever have.
Like others said, my time on the bike is my time to disconnect. Everything else can wait until I get back. So there!!!! LOL!!!

What gets me are those twits that turn left in front of oncoming cars...

I mean, I still watch, just in case when making a left turn.

I actually witnessed one of those myself, going from Selma, Alabama to Little Rock, Arkansas.

We pulled up to the red light, and a pickup pulling a fifth wheel ran the red light, coming from the opposite direction. He broadsided a mini van, spun a u-turn and stopped going back the way he came on our side of the road. He almost flipped the trailer over, but not quite.

We figure the truck driver was distracted by the car we were driving, a mint 1956 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow...
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

I am just about genetically attached to my cell phone. I NEVER turn it off, unless it is to re-boot it occasionally. It is my alarm clock, my calendar, and my primary means of communication. My office desk phone is even forwarded to my cell 24/7. It's IS my MP3 player, and that is the main reason I would LOVE to get a bluetooth setup for my helmet. If I could swing the $185 for a Scala Rider G4, I would have it already!

I use my phone as a PHONE. No texting, no MP3, no camera (it has one) , no browsing the internet with it.

It's a PHONE. Mine doesn't even have any games on it.

However, since I need to be in contact, for work, as much as possible, I too am looking at a Cardo Scala Q2, cheaper than the G4 but still allows hands-free phone answering.
