  • Helmet Repair

SO I have a HJC symax helmet. I really like it, but the rubber lining is coming loose around the edges of the visor and what not. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I tried using superglue...didn't work so well.

If I can get it fixed up I will buy a new tinted visor for it

        Helmet repair

Contact the the company that makes them and see what they recommend for repair. My brother does that when he is not sure what to do and sometimes they send him the part or repair stuff to fix it.
        Thanks Tom

Your best bet would be neutral cure silicon. Any solvent type glues could attack the helment and seriously affect it's strength. Remember that the helmet is just polystyrene with an abs outer shell.

            And the winner is

my brother. He mentioned epoxy, and I took the advice here and called HJC and that is exactly what they said. On a side note, HJC Helmets has the best customer service I have ever received. A real person answered my call and it was that same person that answered my question for me. Now thats classy. Not to mention she sounded like an attractive female, whatever that sounds like...

              Hi CA,
I saw a TV clip about the phone-in sex business.
While their ads show sultry young ladies in lacy underwear the reality is the sensuous voices of fat grannies in housecoats and hair rollers telling lies about what article of clothing they are removing.

                Ouch,

Fred,I really didn't need that mental picture. Can't imagine why someone would spend that kind of money on the phone. To top it off, not even know WHAT they are talking to.
