truthfully I haven't paid more than 400 for any of my bikes. Most came in pieces or missing enough parts that I had to search for. here is what I paid for my 4 Xs's and what it needed.

79 special road home daily ride $400

79 special I got for the clear title $50

80 standard been sitting 24 years only missing the tank $400

And finally the bike john and I bought that he only wanted the spaghetti pipes off of. I think he paid $180 for it and I paid to ship the pipes to him. When I picked it up it was missing the tank and carbs. Lucky I had traded for an exhaust. Thanks Dan!

They are out there cheap if you are willing to wait and look around. There is 3 more in my local area for around 600 within 50 mile drive from me. And I see them off and on being pulled in and out of a few garages here in town but never ridden. Just waiting till the day I have enough money and space to pick them up. Hate to see them sit and rot.

      Hi Poprock,
is the world ready for an 1100cc shaftie dual-sport?
Of course it could be done but even going to extremes;-
(New custom-built rolling chassis + chain drive conversion)
You'd still need to be 300+lbs and perhaps 7 foot tall to ride the bastard.

Today I cleaned the carbs and put the bike back together. I put on my temp gas tank and hit the key. Bike turns over nicely but doesn't start. So I started to check the 3 things a bike need to run. Gas is getting to the carbs. So I checked spark. The plugs are dry and no spark. Checked all fuses they look good. Like I said it turns over nicely.
