  • Braided Wires?

Anyone out there use aftermarket "shiney" braided wires, cable's etc...?
Some make 'em, most just make payments on 'em!

Personally I don't care for them; they're very abrasive and will quickly remove paint/plating from anything they rub against, and when they get dirty are nearly impossible to clean. Look great for a while....

If you get the 'coated' variety (vinyl jacketed), that holds up better but unless the ends are sealed the same dirt problems will crop up (starting at the ends) and the vinyl will yellow over time.

My oil cooler lines are old skool SS braided, look great and havn't eaten any paint off my frame, or frayed yet (of course I have to clean them every once in a while) My front brake lines are SS braided with the clear covers and they're great as well and don't ever get dirty.
