  • Attn Harley Riders

I found this in a local craigslist ad and just had to share it here because I thought it was pretty good. I couldn't help but get a chuckle out of him not being choosey. And BTW if anyone here has any spare parts for me to build a complete 09 road king please please please pm me. I'm not choosey as long as it's an 09.

    Attn Harley Riders
I could really use some Help.
    I want to ride !!
mechanically inclined and willing to build.
I have limited income and a wife and 3 children.
So I can't justify buying parts when sometimes I can barley pay the f*cking bills.
I'm asking for handouts ( parts ) I would like to build a soft tail.
But sense I'm begging I am not choosey will ride , as long as it's a harley.
My friends say start on a sportster ( ride what u can lift )
So if you have or know of anyone who is willing to help a charity case , Please let me know .

    Jake

Being a guy with a wife and kids and two dogs to feed, (hey, they are 80 pounds each, it takes some food to keep them from knawing the furniture ), it really strikes me when folks say they can't pay their bills, but they want to have a toy that cost money to have. Like Insurance, and gas, and upkeep after one or two years, and we all know how cheap those Harley parts are.

Sorry for the rant, but after working with someone who constantly complained they could not afford to feed their kids, and also complained about their $400 cell phone bill (due to their constantly texting and talking on it even when they were supposed to be working for me) every month that they kept paid while rent was not paid. Stuff like this just gets to me.

But it is a very similar or same mentality that they would ask someone to give them what they want. No reason they should have to earn it, they deserve to have it.

+1 on that DGXSER! Sold my Venturer 10yrs. after buying it new, no kids when I bought it, but couple years later had one, then by ten years later couple more, so sold it to do the family thing for all those years with no scoot. Low and behold, darn thing showed up here in Junction after apparently spending all those years in Ariz. That was some 14yrs. later, as I had sold it while living in Glenwood Springs at the time back then. Good choices equals good carma I guess. Got it back for a $100 bill, replaced motor with matching yr. motor/model, did the rest to get it back to what it was in looks and function when I rode it off showroom floor, of course with all NOS pieces(afford to do all that now). Is still all original cept for T-Kat brace and Corbin seat(kept stock original one all these yrs. in closet and perfect showroom cond.). Still no SS brake lines to keep it original as they still work fine with no mushy(another XS tech. term) at the lever. Interesting how doing the right thing can come full circle!

Yeah, thats one reason I have a 30 year old Yamaha. I would love to have a nice new one to go with it......maybe in a few years. Unless someone has one to spare?

My XS11 only cost me $900 with only 14k miles (PO stated it was stored for 15yrs) and $250 for insurance a year. I think I got more bang for the buck not being so choosey.

Sure beats payments on a $20,000.00 Hardley and outrageous insurance. And all the "xs cool factor chrome" you just gotta buy to keep up appearances once you get it off the showroom floor.

I've picked up 3 running XS11s and 1 not running, all were $200-$250 except the first one that cost $500.

There a LOT'S of bike out there to be had for very little. But if you are as picky as that guy, you just get tot dream.

Just makes it easier to lift them into the back of a pickup truck and take them to the mechanic to get em fixed.

Be nice; I've also got a couple of Sportsters, and my '93 1200 has been the most reliable bike I've ever owned (and I'm including the XS).... and after leaning on the motor, it's as quick.

                    Not cheaper though...

Heh heh heh.........every once in a while everyone makes a mistake........or gets lucky......LOL.

Everyone was giving me a hard time at the MoM this weekend about my bike having that "Harley sound" because my exhaust is PRETTY loud.

If Harley made an airplane, would you fly in one?

Just kidding, I like everything with two wheels and a motor! I'm just in love with my XS!

                            Whiners

That Harley wannabe is mental condition that is called "I am a lazy bastar* and I want everything handed to me on a silver plater." The guy with the $400 phone bill is another one. I hate listening to their constant whining.

My favorite part of that was "I'm not choosy ... as long as it's a Harley"

hmmm .. you want to ride ... thought you said you weren't choosy.

                              you wanna ride or not????
