  • Shock Bushings Different size??

Have 1980 XS1100 LG. Has been in peices for a while.
Took Middle gear Box and final drive to service it. Broke the bottom adjuster ring to shock, Then found out that the shocks were no good anyways. And the shock bushings were all the wrong size. There are two different size shock bushings on the bike.
Three are the tops and the Gearbox and a different size for the brake side bottom.

Bought a pair of shocks but thet dont have the correct size bushings and the bushings they sent me are plastic.

Any help here would be appreciated. Like metal bushings to fit

    Thanks T.J. Trahan

Bushings are the right size; the XS/XJ DOES use a different bushing on the brake-side bottom.

    For replacement bushings, try:

This guy specializes in shocks for older bikes, and is the US outlet for some British-built Hagon shocks. Last time I talked to him he had replacement bushings of various sizes in stock. Don't know if they are plactic or metal, though.
