Sounds like my day last week, headed home from reno, coming down 395, I'm in the left lane, check my mirror, check my blind spot, no cars within 1/2mile of me and so I just switch to the right lane. About 45 seconds later I've got the red and blues so I pull over, cop says I was sitting in a parking lot back there and saw you change lanes without signaling. I said sorry sir. He takes my stuff and writes me a ticket for 120 bucks for not signaling a lane change. WTF. Then proceeds to hassle me about a tiny crack so low on the windshield that you can't even see it from the inside of the car. I just told him I didn't know it was there.

Another twist is;
My 1968 truck is exemt from smog check. I guess I need to find a LEO that is of the opinion that it's NOT smoking.
I went ahead and replaced the PCV valve and oil cap (has a hose that goes to the air cleaner). That's the extent of my smog equiptment (OEM). Also rebuilt the 1 barrel Carter carb (took 10 minutes). I'll put that back on tomorrow (will take 2 minutes to tighten the 2 nuts, clip on the accel linkage, clamp the choke cable, and slip on the vac hose to the dist).Pat Kelly
