Should be interesting to see where this one ends up. Looks almost like the front page of the Clymers.
Just saying that it might be a good test of raw value...pity there is a reserve.....

Wow, For a minute I thouhgt it was Rob's (79XS11....)s restoration bike. But he would not part with that for all the jewels in England I do not think.

But that is definitely a VERY clean bike!!!

Looks a bit like this bike that was sold a year or so ago on e-bay..
I'm guessing time came to loose some toys.

              license plate

Yeah I think the license plate on latexeses' pics from last year are DOE925 same as on the manual in the auction.

Probably same bike. How many Wisconsin examples of a 78 macho maroon original XS are there?

I think it was something north of $2500. Seems to me it was more like $3200 and change.

There was a pretty good discussion on here at the time about it.

I wish I had that one and he had a better one. It's a looker!

I just noticed something in that ebay ad. The case guards are different. The guards on the pics of last years model also had a bit of rust where the tube met the mounting plate. A new puzzle.

Hard to tell if they're the same bike; both have the grab handle missing, but the engine guards aren't the same.

Front tires are different, and one of them has some sort of emblem on the upper half of the airbox (left side).

I don't know why I didn't look at this pic.

I should have looked at this picture first.

Some side shots of the engine.

Looks like the number of miles are more on this older photo. Can they be run backwards?

                          Electric drill

Chuck the cable and run back. Not that I would do that, I just heard it was possible. Personally I don't believe odometers on any vehicle sold to me by strangers either good or bad. Though I suppose the electronic ones are harder for the average guy to alter I am sure even those can be done.

Is it the same bike after comparing pix again?

The left foot peg is different, case guards, exhaust pipe discoloration, rubber plug on carb side, spark plugs different colors (who is gonna change them out in 1 year?). Tires, well they say in auction brand new tires...but what I don't understand is the Wisconsin plate number being same. Maybe this owner changed out all that stuff to make it look newer and bought a different newer looking speedo not realizing there are some who may notice?
