Now you need saddlebags and a trunk! Oh, and a set of lowers for the fairing, and highway pegs. THEN it'll be a tourer!

          Hey, Garth!
          Lookin' good!

          I agree w/ Cbug...
I got all that stuff on my XJ he mentioned... and when the lowers are on, I can't reach my forward pegs. Rides longer than about an hour... my old legs and back begin to cramp up, and I miss not being able to stretch out! Glad warm weather's finally here so I can take the lowers off & stretch out!

Get ya some crash bars, (good ones), and put some forward pegs on her... you'll like tourin' then.

Couple a bags & a trunk... you'll be all set!
          Take care.

Agreed... I keep the lowers on for Winter, so my knees don't freeze. But I'll be taking them off soon so I can reach the pegs for the Summer.

              well!!!

I do have some cortech soft bags, but I am wondering if I should put them under or over the new seat, and for the lowers I live in socal I need a little breeze to keep my eggs from frying!

                Soft bags don't count!

Put them under the seat. Makes it much harder for them to grow legs that way. Make sure they are adjusted so they are tight up against the side of the seat though.

Does your clutch cause problems with your range, or did you do some kind of classic Brit bike mod too?

I've always wondered the same thing. This type of seat came on my 79 Standard when I bought it back in '89. The '79's usually have the rear fender cowl on them. Mine said Yamaha on the back but it's worn off.

it does have the cowl under the vinyl, but no factory markings, the funny part is the replacement bolts ,one is stock 14mm and the other is 13mm, the only other 13mm bolt I have is on my fairing brackets

Hah, mine has a 1/2" bolt on the left side, but I put it there, 15 yrs. ago. It's just about one of the only seats for these bikes I've seen that actually fits up perfect to the tank and side covers. Once you've ridden in one of these, all the rest seem sub-par. JMO
