  • V-Max Downdraft Carbs

    Hello everyone.
Been a little while since I've popped my head in hear. Been busy doing Army stuff.
As we all know, I sold MIYAMI to another XS/XJ-OA member. (paintman).
I regret selling her but I know she went to a good and loving home.
I'm now in an area were I can ride year round (Ft. Polk, La). I found a 20th anniversary V-Max. 7033 miles. A little over priced @ 7900.00 . I can probably swindle on the price. (It's at a dealer). My question is about downdraft carbs.
How is this bank of carbs in comparison to the bank of carbs on the XS.
    Adjustability?
    Reliability?
    Etc...

Carbs are carbs. If they have been taken care of, not much should be needed. If they are trashed, you will need to go through them, and put them right once again.
IF the bike is running well, they should go for a few thousand miles before needing anything. If it isn't running quite correctly, it could cost about $100 and four hours of labor to fix them. At the dealer price of $85 per hour, I would offer about $7,000 cash for the bike, at the MOST.
And yes, the carbs really are NOT much different than the XS1100 models.
Hope things are going well with your new employer, Mike!
