  • Nevada/California Ride this weekend?

Hey guys, I know its kinda last minute but, SWMBO took off to visit the folks for a week, so I'm free this weekend. I'm looking to take a ride this weekend, would enjoy meeting up with other members but if no one is available I'll explore on my own. I'm near lake tahoe so I could meet up with folks on the cali side of the boarder possibly, or ride east and meet up with NV members. Its supposed to be 70 and sunny, anyone want to meet up?

    OK, I'm making some plans...
Looks like I'm heading to Sacramento, I'll be leaving my house in the morning, probably around 9 or 10 and heading to Metro-electronics in Sacramento. I'm looking to get some "deoxit" and hoping they have some connectors I've been searching for. Anyone that wants to meet up and ride along, or meet after and ride someplace else post here or pm me and I'll give you my cell number so we can meet up.

To be clear, I'm new to the area and know no local roads or routes, so probably just riding 'lost' and hoping to find a good road.

Depends on what your looking for. Since your riding down into my area, I think I can be available for a ride with another xsessive (even if I'm green over him getting the free bike instead of me ).

I have not really explored the local roads much yet myself, as I have not gotten in as many recreational riding hours as I would like, but I'm open to some hunting myself. Plus, I need to spend some more road time testing out the air levels on my forks and air shocks to make sure I really have them dialed in the way I want. . PM me with your cell number, and I'll return the favor with mine as well.

I just talked with a co-worker who is also a rider, he tells me there are very few "good" roads in the Sacramento area, however I think his definition of a good road and mine may be different, I'm from michigan so almost all the roads out here have more bends then the ones I'm used to. Anyway, he highly recommended 49 going north from placerville and then 193 to connect back up with I80.

That may be a good option, then you can shoot I80 back to your place and I can run it back into reno and south.

tentative plans for anyone who may want to join up,
Cy and I will be meeting in the Sacramento area around 1pm, heading to Placerville (maybe via 16) and then up 49 to the auburn area. From there we'll likely split depending on the time, I want to be back over the mountains before dark....

Ok Cy and I are meeting at the State Railroad museum in Old Sacramento, around 1. Anyone who wants to join us, we'll be meeting there and then riding around for a couple of hours.

It was a great ride except for the Hardley's and the slow cages. Of course we ended up behind them right at all the good spots. At least with the Hardleys we didn't have to listen to their pipes since they were on the brakes so much.
