Parts for 1979 XS 1100 Yamaha

We have been looking for side covers with emblems and also we are missing the two lids for our lugguae compartments (original touring package from Yamaha)

They seem to be very popular, does anyone have any ideas?

We think the color is Macho Maroon. We have pictures of the one side cover we have. It would really be neat to restore this bike to the original look, just for fun.

We are in the process of getting pics of it for everyone to see.

Most parts are available used, if you are patient and have a few connections.
If you post pictures of the hard bags it would be helpful. There were more than one manufacturer used by Yamaha during the years that these bikes were built.
You will need to be able to identify what you have.
It might turn out to be easier to replace the bags, than find good lids with no bags attached.
I just bought a huge pile of parts, an have yet to catagorize the parts, but I know that there is a partial faring, and I saw a set of hard bags wrapped-up in plastic. I don't know the condition yet.

Hey, you are only an hour away from a great motorcycle salvage yard. Right down here in Lancaster Ohio. The place is called Docs. Its on east main st. (us rt 22 ) just on the east edge of town. I know for a fact he has at least one XS in the shop. If you need the number let me know and I`ll look it up.
