    Manly tools

    I'm talkin manly men stuff here folks post up your manliest tool. Is it a word? {It is NOW }Who cares? We are men and can make em up right????
    Remember this is not the hot tpoics forum so keep it clean. No posting of your personal tool....

    Anyhow, I'll start this off with a picture of a tool I happened to see in the work shop of a well known, well respected guru that was kind enough to take pity on me and teach me carb repair 101.

    So this is how I pay him back, I dedicate a manly tool thread to him and post a picture that's sure to make him proud and the rest of you a little bit Jealous..

          What's the definition of a "manly" tool?

          Is it the dirtiest one? The loudest one? The most expensive one? The heaviest one? Or the one so jerry-rigged that only YOU know how to operate it?

            Not sure which to pick. I use my Leatherman all the time for anything you can imagine. It works as almost any tool you can imagine and some you can't!

            The knife is a one-off by Justin Gingrich and is super mean at 1/4" thick 5160 spring steel. Edit: 7.5" blade.

            The Leatherman is far more practical and well-rounded, but more manly? You decide.

              I can't decide between 2 and I don't know how manly they are but I'm always tickled when I use them. There are my aircraft rivet squeezer or my soda blaster. Both do their respective jobs very well and I don't know how I ever got along without them...

                Not sure, I don't have any pretty tools like some of you. Maybe my AK w/ 100 round drum magazine.
                79 F full cruiser, stainless brake lines, spade fuses, Accel coils, modded air box w/larger velocity stacks, 750 FD.
                79 SF parts bike.

                    I went into my shop, looking for an answer to ths question, and really had to think about it. All of my pneumatic tools are near the top of my list, along with my selection of things designed to cut through stuff (saws of various types). However, I think the manliest thing in my shop has got to be the foundation of the whole operation - my custom-made workbench. Specifically built out of free lumber to hold my compound mitre saw, and support all my other electro-mechanical endeavors.

                        Sorry Guys... When your engine cranks out 49,000HP at 100 rpm, there has got to be some big tools lying around. Bigfoot can vouch for me until I get good pics

                          not in the 40KHP range but I once saw a fishing boat on a slip in Brixham harbour at low tide having it's propellor nut tightened with a 10-foot long wrench being lifted by a dock crane.
                          And about your sign-off:-

                            Actually mythbusters showed that it was possible, you just needed the right turd. IIRC it was an alpaca turd or something like that.

                              Last time I was in Brixham at low tide I watched a guy caulking the Golden Hind I love work I can watch it for hours Did you have a nice crab sandwich?
