  • Web space, where

I know that some board members have web pages about their bikes etc. I have been using windows live spaces for my stuff but it has become too much trouble to use. It ether does not allow me to do what I want or messes up after a few hours of working on it and all is lost. I don't want to just drop my page so, how / where do I acquire web space or a web page or whatever it's called. I don't want to spend much if any money on it and it would need to be very user friendly.
Any advise and input would be appreciated from those who have and use a web page.
    Rob

I've used Yahoo for years. They recently changed their format, and upgraded me to what they call a "Small Business" account. It costs me just over $8/month, and I get my own domain name with e-mail addresses to match. It's all linked to my original yahoo account too. It also has an FTP account that comes with it, so I can upload and host the large manual files. I just link to the FTP locations on the actual site.

I use MS Frontpage to make my site, then upload it when I'm ready to do so.

      Hey Rob,

I just looked up your Rogers.com ISP, and am surprised that they don't offer a HOME WEB PAGE service option...just lots of email addys and various internet speeds!?

I remember lots of ads for GoDaddy.com for both domain name registration as well as web site hosting!?

      Good Luck!

Hey TC, Rogers used to offer free web hosting as part of their package but dropped it a while back. Likely because it was not being used by many people which was likely because it was VERY USER UNFRIENDLY. I think they also dropped their photo site as well.
The only issue I have with the live space is that everything is in blog format so there's no way to wrap text around photos and entry size is limited so stories get broken up from one entry to the next. There's nothing worse then spending a few hours dressing up your page and receiving a message when your done that it's too big to post. GRRRRR
