  • Got all excited.

No not about the porn, about reading in the new Rider mag. that PIAA is selling a line of H4 bulbs that put out 125w/135w of illumanation but only draw 60w/55w power with no encrese in heat. That is until I saw the price OUCH! Oh well! Maybe just one for the Wing. And maybe one more, for the XS.

Which issue of Rider and on what page? I have looked through January and March with no luck.

    Thanks,

It's in the march 2010 issue of Rider, hidden in the techQ&A section, on page 56, under the LCDs and Bulbs question, at the end of the answer. I found the prices at www.PIAA.com, if you google PIAA lights, it will all come up, then go to bulbs, to find the prices. I also went to an amazon site and found them a lot cheaper. $41.00 vs $65.00, not quite so bad, but when you consider that I've used the same 100w/55w H4 bulb in my bike for the last 16 years and even after rolling the bike a 50mph two summers ago, it's still lighting my way. I was looking at the low heat aspect as much then the reduction in electrical draw, because the GL1100 Wings have a problem with the wires burning off at the plug, with prolonged use of high wattage bulbs in the inclosed space of the light housings in the fairings.

I've paid more for a light bulb and brighter is always better.

        Thanks for the info,

I have been looking at these light bulbs. They look like they might be worth a try.
