    Winner's curse....that's funny. I didn't notice it was a link.
There are some deals too, most of the time I've got deals that were not listed correctly and no body but me notice them. A new 79 special seat for $50, listed as motorcycle seat. A mint xs 850 Midnight with 4,000 miles for $800, listed as old yamaha. You never know.
    79 XS11 Special (Lazarus)
    80 XS850 Special (Old Faithful)
80 XS11 Standard sorta stock (Beatrice)

      Priceless

Actually Rob, your bike would be closer to priceless. Most bikes look better in photo's. Up close yours is well...spectacular. Well done.

If any of you actually READ his description, he says the handlebars and sidecover emblems were changed to euro style, and he changed all the square stuff for round because he thinks the square items are ugly.

He does state he replaced the carbs with '79 special units because they are 'easier to adjust'??? Pretty good feat since 78 and 79 carbs are the same.

The tank emblems are repro chrome units.

All said and done he did a lot of work to make a nice looking, albeit non-stock resto, which sort of cancel each other out. Definately not worth the asking price.

          Going...Going.....

          xs11lover,

No disrepect/distrust intended from my side to you or any of the other sellers. There are folks that do use ebay and some who do not. With me, it's more a matter of being burdened with a lot of knowledge about games theory.

If is bike price isn't bad, try looking up the seat/tank/side covers he is trying to sell!! $1,950???? I just want some of the drugs this guy MUST be on! I'm sorry, he is about 60 miles from me, and about 60 million miles from reality!

              it is still pretty!

I like the color combo regardless of its other flaws - I'd drive it (not for $7500, but for maybe $3k ?) Either way it would be better to overpay $7.5k for this shiny thing than a new HD.

                Oh I get it now...

This auction is from one of the states that legalized marijuana

The last non-stock running bike I bought cost $500, and the non stock stuff was beneficial, an oil cooler, SS brake lines and the Pacfico fairing wired with temp gauge and voltmeter. Not sure about his electrical upgrades, I'd be going to Geezer for a regulator, and wouldn't trust anyone to "clean" a CDI.

More power to the guy if he can get that big price, I do not think Merriams even got that for a fully reconditioned bike, and they knew what they were doing.

The bike is nice. A lot of work went into that, but 7.5k? You can get a V Star for that. It is a nice bike though.

I dont think so....There was only ONE bike that was worth that kind of money and actually did sell on ebay for more...That bike was MAXIMAN's 'Zilla...

As nice of a vintage machine as I have seen. When you add in that he actually rides it and it's not a garage queen only brought out to show really adds to it.
