I've been tracking the shipment of a ZRX wheel that I bought from a company in Pooler Ga. So far my wheel has been in 7 cities in 4 days.
Pooler GA. to Savannah GA. to Ellenwood Ga. to Champlain IL. to St. Paul MN. to Grand Forks ND. to Winnipeg MB. to Edmonton AB.
Despite my wheel travelling for days it is no closer to me than when it started out. I would have thought that there would be more direct ground routes coming up the east coast. There is also a major Fed Ex hub at the local international airport.
The wheel isn't scheduled for delivery here for 4 more days, so god only knows what cities it will see next.
Hope it is enjoying the ride, The party will be over for it once I get it bolted onto the back end of the Hotrod.

I had some parts sent from Canada recently. Canada Post reported them as having left the Country on the 27th of October last year and they disappeared off the grid. They showed up in Auckland, New Zealand on the 7th of January, and they will take another week to get to me. Thats 12 weeks in total. It wasnt a problem as i wasnt in a hurry, and have no issue with the way they were sent, but 12 weeks , did the ship still have sails, or run by steam or something ??

Here in Canada it takes 7 to 10 days to get across town so 12 weeks to travel 1/2 way around the world is not too bad. 8 weeks to Korea.

My company is a Freight Forwarder, and we track ocean containers all over the world. The problem is not the boats, but more likely the land stuff. Customs takes forever sometimes, especially if a container is flagged for inspection. Both the exporting and importing countries can inspect the containers, and it can take quite a while to do so. After it clears customs on the export end, it takes 1 week to get from a port in China to land on the West Coast of North America. However, it can take another 3 days to get it unloaded, another week to get through customs, then another week to get through the train, truck and delivery center, depending on where it's going. All that is only if the paperwork is in proper order, and someone is actually watching the shipment and pays attention to each step.

Here in the US, we are rather spoiled, and we expect the mail to get delivered across town the next day. Heck, even UPS can get a ground package delivered from St. Louis to Kansas City overnight. The infrastructure in other countries is not always as expedient.

Fed Ex is likely not the culprit

Well the shipping company is blaming the vendor and the vendor is blaming the shipping company. My wheel was sitting in Edmonton for 5 days and was delivered today to someone out there who is probably perplexed as I am.
The vendor suggested that I could "swap" packages via courrier with their other customer. Problem is I have received nothing to "swap". The idea being that if he got my stuff I will probably get his stuff.
I doubt that Fed Ex is the bad guy in this. My guess is the vendor mislabeled the packages(twice now). The route makes sense if the package was mislabeled.
Being the good natured Canadian that I am, I will give the vendor until tomorrow to sort all this out or cancel the order, as well as submit an unsatisfactory comment to ebay.

Canada Post reports that my package left Canada for International Port on the 27th of October and was scanned in, in Auckland, New Zealand at 08.15 on the 7th of January. It was cleared by Customs and released to NZ Post at 17.05 on the same day and I have since found out that the ship arrived on at 01.15 on the 5th of Jan. I took delivery yesterday. So that makes 12 weeks on the water, 2 days to unpack, inspect, clear customs and dispatch, and a week to travel the length of the country. I still think the ship must have been a square rigger, or took the Artic route.

FedEx, Canada to Albury, Nsw Aust in 5 days. USPS, Florida to here in 5days. Exhaust system for triple, England to here in 5 days. Something wrong over your way.

Ships get to you faster 'cause theyre full of refugees in a hurry for a free lunch . (I thought Howard had the right idea when he threatened to sink 'em in the Timor sea.) Our immigration policies are too tight so the ships arrive slower. No point hurrying just to be deported

It was on a 2 rows of oars ship and the sail was shot, I know becauce I was on the second deck 5th oar on the port side!!!! You think 12 weeks is slow, eh, I still gotta row 12 weeks back to the states. Last time we delivered to Kiwi country, it was olive oil, we ran out of water and the oil gave us the runs. Think about 12 weeks of that!!!!
