        Many thanks

Thanks to all my Xsive friends. I did enjoy reading these many well wishes. Though I did not ride on my birthday this year due to ice on the road, I was reminded of the rallies I have ridden with each of you when reading your posts. The happy memories and a good cigar, made for some pleasant relaxation & warm thoughts.

To my snowbound riding friends. I feel your pain, if only for a few days or weeks. It has been so cold (in the teens) here in GA that I put the wind deflectors over the crash bars on my Harley. I bought new mittens and got some thick wool socks for my birthday. Then it snowed and I did not ride for at least 2 days. I have a side car for the XS11, and it this keeps up, I will put it back on, the better to remain upright while sliding around. Most all of the ice is gone now. Snow tires? I do have a new tire for HD, mounted on an extra wheel, but I did not want to work on it in the cold, and have that job to do still. Thanks for reminding me.

It is warmer in FL. I will ride down there Friday for The Coolest Rally hosted by BMW riders. Then next month, back to the keys.

I have enjoyed meeting, riding, rallying, with y'all. Lets do it again...This year. Next fall my daughter and my money are going away to college. I am sure to be needed at home more (to console wife as she misses her little shopping buddy etc....) 217 free & easy glory days left for me to ride. Hope to see you soon.

Well now lets see Brent.............. XS11, sidecar, console wife, shopping.....sure sounds like a recipe for bringing the other half along. No need to miss any Lost in IL rallies.
Let me think....... how much cheese could the two of you shop for and pack in that sidecar?

That was a plan. and years ago me, wife, and daughter all rode to Honda Hoot in Knoxville. Stayed on Outlet drive. Shopped in Sevierville. We had so much stuff packed in and tied on the sidecar rig, it even amazed me. unfortunately she can no longer ride, even in side car, due to back problems and other health issues. She & daughter do "keep the home fires burning". I ride solo now and try to bring back some good stuff. Lobster & jams from Nova Scotia, Maple Syrup from VT & Canada, Cheese from Wisconsin, From South Dakota - Gold, gold! Blackhills gold. The orange blossom honey from Florida was not too big a hit, Nor was the Datil do it hot pepper sauce. But when I came back from Key West with sunken Spanish treasure silver coin necklace...

Now she wants some Bar b Q from Memphis. The next 215 free & easy glory days of riding are going to be good

Hope to see you on the road.

Belated happy birthday Brent! Hope you can spend a few of your "last free" days on a trip back out here! Our little "ride" through the redwoods with Poprock, Bohn, Miles, and Cody on Zilla was a blast, and I'd love to do something like that again!

Me too. It reminded me of noth GA, but with MUCH bigger trees. I am watching PNW rally posts with interest. Alices resturaunt is listed as a favorite destination in recent motorcycle mag. I am SO glad I made that trip. Definately worth a redo. Keep me posted. Tomarrow I am leaving for the Notheast FL BMW rally (camping). I bolted a luggage rack to the passenger seat of a Buell 1125R and loaded my stuff. I am packed. I hope I can stand the wind and seating position for 400 miles. I have been to the chiropracter, but I think he missed a spot. I am told that getting on and riding such a bike is not the hard part. UNfolding and straightening out may require assistance. With some pre ride apprehension, I got ready. Should be fun and spring is predicted to arrive here tomarrow ^60f. Some snow still on ground yesterday. LUCKY timing.

Thanks for birthdqay wishes and I would like to ride with you again too.

                  Brent,
Hope the miles and the journey to the BMW rally are safe ones, and... as Bohn always says... "Remember... it's about the adventure!"

Hope the back holds out on the Buell!

(I'm still trying to picture you riding that thing!) LOL

(Now I'm trying to get the mental image of you, the Buell, ... and a loaded up rack mounted over the rear seat?? Wow... )

Have fun, my friend... and come home safe.

Hope to see ya again soon.
