Congratulations to the the USA Junior Hockey team.
The USA Juniors (under 20yrs. old) won the gold medal in hockey by beating the Canadian team in overtime last night. It was a fast clean game.
The USA team was well coached and disaplined. Great defence and shot blocking coupled with some spectacular goal tending was the difference.
I would expect a similar effort next year with 18 members of the USA team qualifying to return.
For non hockey fans, I would say this is no small accomplishment. Canada has won the gold the last five years running and most of all these juniors will be playing for the NHL in the next few years. The stars of tomorrow.

Real Hockey Fans...

Well I would say most (not all) Canucks are fans of the game first and foremost. We all have our teams and don't like to lose but love to see the game played well. When a team plays the game really well we can all appreciate it. Most of us have played the game and understand just how difficult it is to do.
The American team did all things well and stuck to their game plan. Even when Team Canada had them pinned down and blasting shots they never lost their composure. They didn't chase. I believe they had some luck but they earned it.
Overall the Team USA victory will be good for the tournament (In Buffalo next year) and good for the game.
Why not tune in next year and support your team? I expect them to do very well.
