            Here's our herd.
Amos on the left and Puff on the right in their usual place.

Sam in his usual place and pose.

            Salem

Last but certainly not least is Lily. She's the smallest but has plenty of personality and feistiness to make up for it.

              My pets:

Boo, and in the cathouse Charlie

My Girlfriend's pets (she stole Gothic from me...LOL)

              Critter

              Gothic

              and Cooper

All of our pets are adoptions or rescues.

XS11 folks seem to have an affinity for black cats...which is cool..because the are the hardest for animal shelters to adopt out.

1-900-Cat Chat ...BTW his name is Spunky...some kid gave him that name I tried changing it but he wasn't buying it as he already knew it was his name so he won that argument. He was 8 months old when I found him in the animal shelter. That was in April '94!

                    Lost my dog

I had to put down my faithful companion of 12 years. He had a bad hip problem that we had been dealing with for years. It had gotten so bad he often could not walk at all. Bad thing was, the vet said the numerous falls had taken their toll. His incontinence of the last year was caused by him getting twisted up inside. As hard as it was for him to move he would still always find a way to be right by my side. Sorry, but I'm pretty choked up right now but I wanted to post his pic. His name was Yogi and like the cartoon character he was smart, good, and loving to all.

I'm really sorry to hear about Yogi John, that's always a hard decision to make. It's sad our pets can't live as long as we do.

So sorry for what you had to go through. I posted a photo of my dog, Apache, earlier in this thread. He's seven yrs old now and showing signs of slowing down on some days. I dread the day that will eventually come when I will have to do what I have to do to end any of his suffering. I can only hope that will be several years from now.

My ex had to have the male Lab (Cosmo) put down a couple of years ago for pretty much the same thing your dog was suffering from. That was right before Christmas of '08. She wanted our son to have another dog since she and I agreed, most teenage boys need a dog. They picked up Murphy on St. Patrick's Day.

                          Hope you are doing OK...

                          Don

                            Thanks everyone,

As hard as it is to lose a good dog, the loving companionship you receive far outweights the pain.

                              Here's a couple

more of Yogi in his younger years. I have had other dogs that would "put on a show" but Yogi would "talk" to you.

In this picture he is telling a story using more sounds than I have heard from any other animal. He knew, and learned over a hundred words, most of which he was not taught. Wife and I had to spell out, like you do with young children certain words and he even began picking up on that. So I started slurring and mispronouncing such words as ride, outside, car, truck (yes, he knew the difference), and of course VET. His association skills were phenomenal.
