  • Need Maxim badge info...

    Hey, Gang!

    Good news has finally come!

Supplier has the MAXIM sidecover badges finished, and has around 20 ready to ship. Mine have already been shipped, and when they arrive, I'll be taking pics and I'll get them posted so all can see what they're looking to buy.

He has asked me for add'l info...

Does anyone have any pics of the smaller bike's sidecover badges... like the 400, 550, 650, 750...etc or know if they all just said MAXIM ? Also, was there a 700 Maxim as well? Saw a pic of one, but wasn't sure if that was properly ID'd...
I've tried to Google it... but the pics of the sidecovers are too vague to tell for sure...
Best I can tell they all just said Maxim only on the sidecovers.

He's wanting to get the info accurate before he posts the ads to sell them.

Anyone remember, or have some pics?

    Thanks!

      Thank You, Richard.
I have forwarded your link to him.
I couldn't get the 650 link to work, though.

      I do appreciate it.

Prices, PER BADGE, will be as follows:

          AUD: $42.50 U.S.: $38.25

Orders of 10 or more: AUD:$35.85 US: $32.85

(Subject to change, due to the unstable US dollar right now...)

I'm hoping these prices aren't too high for us... they are a bit pricey...
He explained that the gold plating process cost more than his original projections... which makes since given what gold prices are doing right now.

Putting in a group order's the way to go for sure...
He said he had about 20 ready to ship and more would be ready soon.

Looking forward to recieving the first pair, and as soon as I do, I'll post some pics so you can better decide.

The "650" was a separate emblem. It was on the side of the Air box chrome cover.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamah...Q5fAccessories These are really rare to find let alone find one with all the gold plating intact. I paid $123.00 plus for a left & right last year in good shape. The plating on the letters is just starting to wear off. After I complete my '80G I'll start a resto on my Mid Max so I would be interested in two of these if they become available. HTH

                    1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
                    1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
                    1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
                    1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Wow! Thanks, Schming! I have passed this on to him.

He may need a loaner in good shape to make the casting from, though.

That's what I did... then got it back... 100% intact.

Wouldn't happen to have one extra laying around you could part with, would ya?
