Yes, this is a couple of years old but I still enjoy it. I hope you do too.

Holy Crapoly...The amount of wiring alone it would take to seperate each of those lighting segments like that is staggering. ALOT of work without even getting into the timing of the controls involved.

The guy who did that is an engineer. He used two Xinilx Spartan kits to control everything. I know this because I used to work for Xilinx until the layoff 1.5 years ago! The BIG problem is that the Marketing department at Xilinx DIDN'T tell anyone about this, or some of the other things that could have helped the company, hence the layoff!!
And no, I WASN'T in marketing. I was a reliability engineer doing atmospheric neutron research with the Xilinx parts....

          Holy Moses,

That is totally awesome. I can't get it out of my mind. I wonder what the cost was on that thing. I have a brother-in-law that lives in New Orleans and one year we were there for Christmas. He took us to the house owned by the guy who invented Popeyes chicken. The house was static light display and had tens of thousands of lights, figures that moved and that kind of stuff. This light display beat Popeyes hands down. Amazing!!!!
