Went for a couple of rides yesterday. My dad passed away day before and needed the clear air in my head. First ride started before 10:00AM and was a run down to the mall to get cigars and then out to the lake. Was nippy (about 60 degrees)for the first 30 min then warmed up to 73 by 2:00PM. Beautiful weather and bright sun shining. Knew I was testy when I zipped around an illegal that was lost in the mall parking lot. You know they are illegal when they stop in the mall entrances and start giving you that where's my mommy look. Pulled it up then shut it down. I stopped at the cigar store and sat in an overstuffed chair talking to the owner and watching the crowd at the mall and chilled. About noon I cranked her up and headed out to the lake. Man she was running good. I gave her the full throttle several times thru the gears and down again. Powered thru a couple twisties twice as fast as legal and close to the wire once (gotta remember that one because it was downhill). About 2 o'clock it was getting right warm so I headed back to the house. Spit and polished the bike then called a bud up and said "let's hit the town". Picked him up on the bike and went to Dukes for burger and laughs (renowned HD bar). After Dukes went to the Cape for a few and chill. Buddy had a ride so about 10 o'clock I climbed back on board (don't remember it being this cold) and headed home. Was a little lit so when a kid in a mustang peeled away from me at a light I gave him a thrashing. Picked it up in the first three gears and flew past him at 110+. He backed way off at the next light. Made it home OK but cold. Anyway, today is another fine day!

So sorry to hear about your Dad, John... but glad you were able to get out and enjoy some of the nice weather we're having...
Got to enjoy some of it myself... riding b**** (ahem) on John's newsed Kawasaki yesterday...
    lol

Don't know if you get out that way... but 407 toward Justin from 377 and then onto 287 (via a dogleg in Justin) is pretty decent... some nice curves almost the entire length from Justin to 287...

      John,

Sorry as well to hear about the loss of your Dad. Hate to hear that happened.

You did the right thing... a ride, especially with a buddy, is the best therapy for clearing your mind at times like that.

Sounds like you turned it around and had a good day, in spite of it. That's good.

      Condolences, my friend.

Nippy 60 degrees? It was a balmy 45 here today and the sun was out! 60 degrees would be a downright heatwave around here about now. Sorry to hear about your father. I lost mine 11 yrs ago. I agree, the best thing to clear the cobwebs outta the mind is a nice ride as long as it ain't too cold.
