  • New addition to the stable

Hey all, picked up another bike (the spousal unit is going to kill me in my sleep I think) anyway, it is a 2000 Suzuki Intruder 1400. I'm liking it quite a bit, drove to Chicago today to pick it up, I don't have a good pic yet, just one from a cell phone, but I have a stock photo I got off the internet, it's even the same color scheme, here she is:

and here's the cell phone pic, poor quality that it is

life is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD right now...at least until the wife kills me or divorces me, that's it for now, have a nice day and ride safe

They are fun scoots. Sister and bro-inlaw have two of them. His is the earlier 4-speed, hers, the later 5-speed. When I'd ride up to SaltLake of either of mine, I would take the two scoots out and "exercise" them a bit, as they had not much time to ride them. Fun cruiser style, less grunt than a Yammy V-Star 1100, but still fun for that style bike. They are fairly comphy with the forward controls.

okay, got a couple of pics of "La Soccola", the image quality isn't very good, I picked up one of those crappy $10 digital cameras at the local wally world as I'm getting ready to leave the country again and my 8MP camera is MIA and my 2.3MP camera is apparently broken. SWMBO has ordered a new camera (she cashed in my holiday inn points for it no less) it will be here in the next couple weeks, but I will be off to India by then, hell I may be back by then. anyway, some other (lesser quality) pics of the new addition.

She's got some torque, lots of it. I've managed about 50 miles since I got her, she's probably gonna need tires and a battery, and of course the requisite oil change before I put too many miles on her, but so far, I'm liking it! shifts like silk, I can't even begin to describe the difference in the gear boxes between this and Il Barrachino, I knoew the XS transmission was clunky, but this Zuke is like the exact opposite as I can't hardly feel it shift. anyway, I'm happy, I will have time to work on the XS when it's not freezing outside and hopefully, I can get her looking like she deserves without too much aggravation. I now have the best of both worlds, a nice cruiser that I can put about town on and an old school muscle bike, that's still a thrill to ride (although I had to hide the XS over at my sisters place as SWMBO is still irritated ebough that she's banging on me to sell it or part it out, I figure out of sight out of mind, I hope it works, for my sake . that's it for the moment, have a nice day and ride safe

        Very nice Lorax

It is nice to have more than one bike.Especially nice to have a comfortable cruiser for the long rides.I know for me,I love forward controls and a comfy seat for long rides. It is the difference between being able to ride for a couple of hours or all day.
But it is fun to have an XS to play with and feel the power.
        Ride safe.
