I really like the front turn signal on the fairing. That is worth a cool 1,000 points and most likely a win by a huge margin in the annual Hutchinson KS Redneck Car Show. You might do up the seat with some duct tape and get some fuzzy dice to seal the first place trophy, which happens to be a 5 pack of Keystone Light.
Seriously though, if you got it for that much and it runs, with the bags and such, that is a very good deal.
where did you pick that up that you actually paid tax?

The seat actually looks like the PO tried to 'glue' it, or seal it with some kind of hardening goo.
Not sure if it runs, yet.
Bought it from Edmonton Motorcycle Salvage. He offered it to me about a month and a half ago, but it took time to save up the $$. He thought it was an '81.
He likely wouldn't have charged the GST, had I thought to bring cash....
The bike came with 3 ignition keys, and a key for the bags, but none for the Vindicator.

Wow! A Vindicator! Not too many of those left. It's a Windjammer without the turn signals built in. Isn't that where the rear signals are supposed to go - attached to the saddlebag bracket?

Yes, it used to be on the south side. Originally, the guy that owned it, 20 years ago or so, was really good. Then he sold it and it went to crap, Now a new owner seems to be really good again.

Yeah, not too many left. I can see no provision for front signals on it, anywhere.
No, there is supposed to be two rails in between the sadllebag brackets. The signals mount to the taillight bracket. The signals in this look like Honda or Kawasaki.
No one mentioned the square guages.... it looks like this one had a front end collision and they used a standard as a donor. Not sure about those handelbars.
Well, it's just like back in the day, when I had a VW Beetle. Everyone knew someone with one that hadn't moved in years that could be picked up cheap.
I will have to sell a few of this in the spring. Once I have them running properly, and complete.
Yeah ok that's all well and good, but please don't let me encourage you to start that VW beetle thing all over again..Congratulations on your new bike, looks to me like you made a good buy.

Tried to fire it up, tonight. I don't think there is any compression. By the looks of it the PO had issues with the cam chain tensioner. Probably has some bent valves.
Will know more when I can get it into the shop and delve into it some more.
