    what other mods am I missing here?

    I'm not including the cafe, bobber, or chopper mods. (nothing against those)

    The engine, frame, and most of the parts ARE 30 year old XS1100. So what's the point??? We ALL do mods of some type to our bikes, as I KNOW you have! Everyone has a different idea of the "perfect" bike. The XS just happens to be the BEST platform ever made. Any changes an owner makes is for his/her benefit, and should fit his/her needs. Look and see how many 30 year old motorcycles are on the road with NO modifications!

      I'm just trying to compile a list of the mods we have discovered.
      I'm not saying anything about anyone's bike.
      I made the comment about cafe, bober, chopper mods as they usually incorporate more XStensive building skills.

          Most likely the most common mod'ed part is the exhaust.

            More subtle mods:
            -left handlebar slightly higher than left (road to Shaver Lake)
            -Oil plugs to replace stripped-out allen plugs on middle and final (K-mart tools)
            -homemade windshield mounts (Orchard Supply Hardware)
            -tiny wire keepers on sidecovers (Fisherman's Warehouse)
            -Vista Cruise throttle lock
            -homemade sissy bar (OSH)
            -homemade valve cover gasket (oil stains on Levi's 501s)
            -Virago footpegs (road to Hollister through the Pacheco hills)

              Maybe we should call them XS1100Plus's. Virago foot pegs - hmmm. I'd write more but I need to go check e-bay .
              I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.
