I like to ride all year round but that ain't possible if you live in Saskatchewan.
Mostly it's just me with my wife in the sidecar.
Except that most years we participate in the Salvation Army toy run.
After my first toy run, being part of a whole mass of bikes running two abreast being waved through red lights & stop signs by the cops, I knew just how the Nazi Stormtroopers felt as they marched into Paris. Weird feeling, really. But only that first time. Subsequent runs have been pleasurable (some more than others, the sleet storm during the '08 run was the worst) but the rush was gone.

I second that. Unfortunately, there aren't too many other folks around me that I can call on for a ride. There aren't many places for pleasure rides around here either...

I ride to work by myself. 1/2 hr one way. Take a back-way hard packed road. Only a few cars maybe meet, if any, & hardly anyone in front that needs to be passed. I love ridin in a group - since I ride alone everyday. Love the xtra bike noise, commradary, & of course many laughs when a stop is taken. A group for my area (in the country) may only be a handful of bikes. To us up here more than 3 bikes would be a big deal for a run. Also, there is no care as to who is ridin' what or what size cc (harley or not) were too laid back to worry about all that, just havin' a scoot & doin a jaunt is what its all about - Dan

I usually ride alone. I have a tendency to push it to the limits some times. Whenever I ride, I am always trying to improve my riding skills. Usually, I like to ride a lot longer and faster than a lot of my buddies back home.

Depends on the mood I'm in

If I want to look at the scenery and take life easy, I prefer riding with a group. If I want to scrape the footpegs and see the zipper-line in the road get real blurry I prefer to go by myself.

Hey MRO - did you right that little piece of prose? Very nice.

You've got that right, brother. As you well know, I'm not the guy you want up front. Besides, you always know where the interesting stuff is - like turkeys in the middle of the road .

You bring up a good point. Its nice to stop off and take a picture when there is some good scenery. I find it easier to do that when solo though. Unless you are leading, it can be difficult to stop the entire pack. Riding with people who stop to take pictures without letting someone know can be very dangerous. The one minute you think that they are late because they are doing a photo shoot is the minute that they are actually in an accident. I know from personal experience. I am a firm believer in a buddy system. You don't leave the pack without someone with you.

Thats what usually gets me into trouble. As soon as I see him jump out in front, my right hand twists back the throttle. As soon as you can blink, we are a few miles in front of the pack
