    Very clean looking bike!! Not sure the rack and backrest are original, but everything else I see appears to be. But, did they not put the cowel behind the seat on the standards in 79?

      The post indicates it's a "G" model and so does the seat. Also ,if original, the paint confirms this, I think?

        it's an 80 for sure the seller doesn't know better, paint look original and the seat slants with the side covers

          Interesting...

          Side covers are '80, no kick start shaft says '80, seat is 80's, exhaust is past axle isnt that '79? and the rotors are not slotted as should later models? Nice looking bike!

            The '80-'81's had slotted rotors. It looks to be a bit of a frankenbike, but it's still nice-looking!

              No, the 80 G doesn't have slotted rotors, just the specials. It certainly looks like a 1980 standard, everything points to that. The point of confusion is that many if not most of the 1980 model bikes were actually built in 79, so if they looked at the date of manufacture rather than the model year the confusion would be natural.

                            That explains why no cowl if it is an 80.

                            Yep, the slotted rotors are only on Specials for 80-81 and XJ I believe.

                            The exhaust being shorter than or longer than the axle is another difference between standards and specials, the specials have the shorter exhaust.

                              MMM, that's nice. I always liked the silver on silver paint on the 80 g's. also that the "cowl" got taken off for the 80 year. Nice
