Social networking - Do you Tweet?

Personally, I have never seen the draw of the idea of Twitter. I have enough going on in my own life to worry about without hearing instant notifications of mindless events happening to other people. However, I was just watching a show on the History Channel (I think..) about the fact that the Department Of Homeland Security in NYC and DC now have Twitter feeds to notify people of emergency situations. Seems rather strange that they would use something like that as an emergency notification solution, but I guess it's something.

I'm just curious about the folks here. Do you use any social networking sites (besides Channel 11) on a regular basis?

Don't use any, besides XS11 dot com. That stuff is for the new generation that text, instant message, etc. Another reason for people not to pay attention to the road while driving. JMHO

I am still trying to figure out when My Space and Face Book became verbs?? Last I knew they were all nouns and an adjative if I remember my high school english classes correctly.

This is as close as I get to the new world of instant messaging.

As I have a teenage daughter I keep an eye on her myspace account, as I feel it is my job as dad to do so. Not as a watchdog but to make sure I dont have something inappropriate going on. On the plus side I also found my daughter from my first marriage on there after the wife disappeared with her sixteen years ago. She is still not so sure about me because of everything her family has said about me but atleast she stays in constant contact with my oldest daughter from this marriage.

I do the "Facebook" thing, I still don't consider it a verb , but I play around with it. I did it more as an experiment to see how many people I know are on it; I've made a few friends, the most interesting was an old friend I hung out with 20 something years ago, that's about it. have a a nice day and ride safe

I do have a facebook account, but I use it about one every other month, to keep in touch with family. I DO use my LinkedIn account, as it's the BEST way to try and fine a new job!

After watching this Myspace Video you'll understand why I don't use them. My kids are obsessed with some of those sites and I've had to put up with some of this behavior!

Totally turned off to the whole thing.

I only use "my space" to maintain my motorcycle stuff. I used to use face book but it proved to be a PITA and really did not seem to be serving any useful purpose.

I used to play farm town (and farmville too) but have switched to Restaraunt City and Cafe World. I would still play the others too, but find I have only so much time to spend playing game and the two take up all of it.
