  • "Special Delivery"

I just had an awesome experience today.

I placed an order w/ Craig & Carol Vetter.

I ordered some graphic stickers and the attachment hardware sets for my fairing lowers. After looking at the forcast for the ride this weekend in Talimena, I got to thinking how nice those lowers might be!

But, as I completed the order, I saw that shipping was included in their prices, but no options to overnight or expedite... and I began to worry if it would arrive before Fri...

So, I sent Craig an email...

Carol replied very nicely a couple of times, answering my questions, and then said... "don't worry, we'll get it to you by the ride."

Then she sent me an email, w/ a picture of Craig on one of his streamline yellow motorcycles, holding my package, w/ the caption that read, "There he goes now to mail it off to you!"

I thought... How cool is that??? Now that's what I call personal service!

So I replied back, told her about the many great things I had been told about Craig, and that this just proved they were all true!
I told her to tell him I thought he was the coolest dude on the planet!

She replied back, and said "I've forwarded this on to him, so you'll be telling him yourself. It's so nice to be appreciated!"

I've already recieved my email from the USPS telling me how to track it, and that it's on it's way.

All I can say is... what a different place this world would be today if we all did our jobs that way. Just Awesome! Great people, the Vetters.

Great... then I just blew $40...

I heard Canadian air mass moving from N.E. OK through to the S.W.

Rain, and cold Fri & Sat. as of this am... High Sat. of 59...?

I like your weatherman's predictions better!

I like it better too... but I doubt you really blew the money... I'm sure they'll come in handy and you might need them this weekend... ya just never know...
But selfishly... I'm hoping you don't need them...

Hey, at least I get my new "Windjammer" decals... w/ the logo, in gold lettering... should look pretty good.

After Miles had the bike repainted, not very many emblems were put back on.

Besides... her sending that picture of him personally going to mail off my package... that made my day!

                Yah,
The Vetters are great to deal with. They are always willing to answer questions and talk to folks. I try to go to them as much as possible for parts.

Yeah, everything I'm seeing looks terrible for Friday, but good Saturday and Sunday. Having lowers just in case isn't a bad thing. What is it.. 3 screws for each side if you decide you don't need them?

It's 4 for each side, but they're a special rubber expansion nut, a bolt, and a nylon/plastic washer. I was looking at ordering some from Vetter (who, I agree are great people). However, they wanted $27 for the set of 8, while I found them on ebay for $21. Then, I found them at Lowes for about $15 (IIRC) for all 8 (not including the bolts/plastic washers). I lucked out though, when the lowers arrived and they already had the needed hardware attached to them!

I only got one side of the lowers with mine. Where does the 4th screw go besides the places for 3 you see here?

The fourth one is located just in front of your knee, facing you when seated on the bike.
