Lincoln Navigator 4 high noise? 2004

    Hey Guys and Gals,

    I've got a question.
While setting the four wheel drive selector from 2 wheel to AWD, everything is smooth, but then shift it to 4 high and there is a little clicking noise for about 1 sec, while moving at about 35 mph. Is this noise typical/common or is there something wrong here?

Thanks in advance for any input!

      OOOHHH YA
      That's probably it.
      Makes sence anyhow.
      Thanks.

But would that make a 20 clicks sound within about one second?
Sorry, I'm just use to the old manual locking system.

Actually it has an axle disengage up front actuated by most likely electric solonoid, sounds like a bit slow engaging splines.
