  • Picked up a 79

Picked up this 79 on the cheap with the second gear problem and the 5th gear peg fallen out. All told it cost me $4.59 and about 5 hours to get it running right again. Oh, I had to set the pilot screw on #4, someone had run it ll the way in, I suspect he was 7 years old and thought he was "helping"

FWIW, its up for sale for $1500 to anyone on XS11 that might need another. I'll be asking $1850 and probably getting a bit less local.

It is very clean. I think it has been garaged its whole life. It is awesomely fast too. The difference between it and my 81 is much more than just noticeable. Admittedly I do have the 750 FD on my 81, but I don't remember it being that fast.

Give it to the kid who rear ended you! Maybe he can text while driving it or have someone texting while following him.

        What do you think?

She's a slick looking ol girl, that's for sure. Sorry I couldn't make it over to watch and help with the 2nd gear fix. If you still have that at the end of October my dad MAY be interested. I mentioned it to him and he asked what you wanted for it. So who knows. . . .

I found another one today, an 81 special, complete with vetter fairing, carrier and backrest.

Dirt cheap, but do I really need 4??
